When I Like That Lamp first started in 2013, our only product was a DIY lampshade kit, but we received countless questions from customers asking us how to safely wire a lamp from scratch. And it’s probably no surprise that people’s main concern was electrocuting themselves, or risking faulted wiring.

So we set out to DIY a lamp, and here’s what we learned:

So how do you actually go about wiring a lamp socket? We’ve said it’s easy-as-pie, but that doesn’t really tell you everything you need to know. So we’ve put together this tutorial for you to see step-by-step just how do-able it is.
