In this step-by-step wreath-making tutorial. Happy Wreath Making!

  Estimated Project Time

Approximately 30 minutes - 1 hour, depending on the type

and quantity of embellishments you add to your wreath base.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • A Wreath Making Kit by Makely, or the following supplies:
  • Grapevine Wreath Form
  • Glue Gun + Glue Sticks
  • Jute Twine
  • Floral Tape + Wire
  • Floral Cutters
  • Needle Nose Pliers
  • Decorative Materials of Your Choice

  STEP ONE

Gather all of your favourite decorative materials. The sky is really the limit here - feel free to get creative and use whatever items you wish. In this tutorial, we'll be using pine cones, cinnamon sticks, spray paint, tree ornaments, Christmas bulbs, evergreen trimmings and eucalyptus.

  STEP TWO

Using your floral cutters, snip your evergreen + eucalyptus trimmings so that each piece has between 1 and 2 inches of stem remaining.

  STEP THREE

Bundle 2-3 evergreen pieces together using jute twine. Repeat this process for all of your evergreen pieces at the same time, as you'll need to attach them to your wreath using a single piece of floral wire.

  STEP FOUR

Once all of your evergreen pieces have been bundled together, attach your evergreen peices to your grapevine wreath form. Tightly wrap floral wire around your wreath form about three times, tucking the loose wire over and underneath to secure it in place. Now lay your bundled piece of greenery overtop of the wire, and wrap the wire tightly around the stems. Without cutting the wire, add another bundle of greenery, overlapping 1/2 of the last one, and following the form of your wreath base.

  STEP FIVE

Continue the process of layering your bundles of evergreen until you've reached your starting point. Wrap your wire around your wreath form and secure it in place with a knot.   Now cut a handful of 6" pieces of wire and use it to secure the wire in place at the bottom and sides of the wreath form. Your needle nose pliers will come in handy here, as you can use it to really secure your knots.

  STEP SIX

Now it's time to add your decorative materials! We used white spray paint to give our pine cones a snow-glazed look. And we tied cinnamon sticks with jute twine to infuse our wreath with a holiday scent.

  STEP SEVEN

The type of decorative embellishments you have will determine how you'll need to affix them to your wreath. We used hot glue to attach our lighter pieces, and floral wire to attach our pine cones and Christmas bulbs. Space out all of your embellishments to give your wreath a full-bodied look.

  STEP EIGHT

It's time to hang your wreath and enjoy! Using a piece of floral wire, attach one end to the left side of your wreath, and the other end to the right side of your wreath. Now you'll be able to hang your wreath wherever you wish!

Lastly... Hang + Enjoy Your Beautiful DIY Wreath!
