Photographer Paul from Espo Studio saw an oval-shaped lampshade he loved on Mad Men and set out to make his own version from scratch. Now, when I say 'from scratch', I really do mean it. Wanting to get the size and shape just so, he created his own lampshade rings from music wire by heating and soldering them into shape. The understated, modern look was finished off with a neutral linen fabric covering.
To create the custom lampshade rings, Paul had to bend the wire into shape by heating it with a blow torch and soldering in supporting joints.
Applying pre-cut adhesive styrene from I like that lamp to the fabric.

The end result is something worthy of the effort. Paul's custom lampshade is truly one of a kind. He suspended the lampshade from the ceiling using a pendant lighting cord set.
