We love it when our customers share their finished DIY lampshade projects with us (so much so that we give them 25% off their next order from our shop)! One thing we hear a lot is that it's almost impossible to find tall and skinny drum lampshades in stores, which are typical of classic Mid-Century Modern lighting. True cylindrical drum lampshades are typically more expensive than their tapered cousins because they don't stack on top of each other and are therefore more expensive to transport and stock in stores.

Since our DIY Drum Lampshade Kits come in customizable heights and diameters, customers can buy a kit that suits their exact size requirement. You can get anything from a super-skinny 10" diameter x 18" high lampshade for a tall mid-century style lamp, to a super-flat 18" diameter x 10" high shade for a statement pendant lampshade.

Here are some projects from customers who've made their lampshades tall and narrow to suit their period lamps.

This mid-century style white cream lampshade was made with a tall and narrow lampshade kit for a classic silhouette by our lovely customer, Sarah.

A proud customer shared this DIY project with us on Instagram - the blue linen fabric chosen coordinates perfectly with the MCM lamp base.

Blogger Melissa from The Sweet Escape loves vintage lamps but struggled to find coordinating lampshade for this pair of pretty green ceramic lamps. Custom-sized Lampshade Kits to the rescue!! Read her full review on Apartment Therapy

This tall cream lampshade was made using a custom DIY Lampshade Making Supplies measuring 18" tall X 14" diameter. A perfect match for a lamp base of unusual dimensions, which might have otherwise been difficult to find in the store!

Our customer, Erica made this mid-century, modern lampshade with a grey marl fabric and coordinating maroon ribbon as trim.
